LOT AXIS

SIMBA is now LOT AXIS — evolving traceability into Lot Intelligence

Lot Intelligence™ for Cannabis and Hemp Processors

Weighing a barcode-labelled tote of dried cannabis flower

Know every lot, from harvest to package, and keep a record of it that you own.

You already scan every package for the state. LOT AXIS turns the same work into the numbers that decide whether you make money: saleable grams by harvest lot, where the weight went between wet, dry and trim, what a lot really cost per gram, and which packages hold material from the batch the lab just flagged. Your crew works with barcodes, scales and touchscreens on the floor. Nobody re-keys anything, and nobody reconciles three systems at the end of the week.

What's driving cannabis traceability right now

State systems are
ledgers, not operations

Built for the regulator, not for you

Metrc, BioTrack and the other state systems exist so regulators can follow product through the licensed supply chain. Maine’s own Metrc user workgroup found that the system’s reports “are not sufficient to manage business operations.” Yield, cost per gram, cycle time and shrink have to come from somewhere else.

Compliance data is not operations data →

Reconciliation
on a daily clock

Count it, reconcile it, explain it

Montana now requires inventories to be reconciled in the tracking system by 11:59 p.m. every day. In Michigan, a 2026 consent order found 630 active package tags in the state system and 69 on site. When your own records drift from the room, the state ledger is where it shows up.

Package IDs and the cost of a mismatch →

State systems
change hands

Keep a lot history you own

New Mexico moved every licensee from BioTrack to a new state system on September 4, 2026, and only the data in the old system at cutover was migrated. Missouri put its system out to bid the same year. Vendors and state systems change; your lot history should not go with them.

Why compliance alone costs operators money →

How LOT AXIS runs a cannabis operation, harvest to transfer

1. Receive

Harvest material and inputs

Harvest material, trim, biomass, ingredients and packaging get a barcode and a lot at the door. Nobody types a lot number.

2. Label

Tote, case and pallet

Print barcode labels for bins, totes, cases and pallets from the lot record, so every container carries its own identity from the first scan.

3. Process

Dry, trim, extract, blend, pack

Record each step by work order as it happens. Weights come off the scale, and every output links to the lots that went in, so wet-to-dry and trim loss show up by lot.

4. Store

Vault, cage and warehouse

See lot-level inventory by location, live. Handheld scanning and FIFO/FEFO rotation keep counts honest; holds stop suspect product from moving.

5. Ship

Scan-validated transfers

Scan every case and pallet as it loads. Bills of lading and shipment detail come from the scans, so the right lot reaches the right customer.

6. Trace

Back and forward in minutes

Lab flags a batch? Pick any package, trace it back to its source lot and forward to every customer who received it. That takes minutes, not days.

Proven where traceability is hardest

LOT AXIS was built in seafood, meat and produce plants across the US and Canada, where product changes form several times a day and a recall is measured in hours. Cannabis processing asks the same questions: what went in, what came out, where it is, and who has it.

“I never realized full traceability could be so easy!”

SIMBA is now LOT AXIS. Our food customers know the system by its original name.

LOT AXIS is more than compliance software.

It runs the floor, so yields, cost per gram and live inventory come out of the scans your crew already makes.

Cannabis questions we hear most

Does LOT AXIS replace Metrc or our state track-and-trace system?

No. If your state requires Metrc, BioTrack or another system, you keep reporting there. LOT AXIS is the operating record behind it: one record of every lot, with the yields, costs and inventory the state system does not give you. In the walkthrough we look at how your state reporting fits.

Who is LOT AXIS built for?

Processors and manufacturers: cannabis and hemp processors, extraction and concentrate labs, edible and beverage co-manufacturers, and makers of extracts, terpenes, flavors, nutrients and growing media. It runs the production floor and warehouse, not retail point of sale.

Is it cloud software?

LOT AXIS runs on-premise, so your lot history stays on your own servers, whichever state system, vendor or POS you use next.

Do we need to replace our ERP or accounting system?

No. LOT AXIS is not an ERP. It runs the floor and passes production, inventory and shipment data to the accounting or ERP system you already use.

Will it work with our scales, printers and scanners?

Yes. LOT AXIS connects to floor scales and bench scales, label printers, handheld scanners and touchscreen workstations.

What does getting started look like?

Bring us one product flow: harvest, process lot, package, transfer. In a 30-minute walkthrough we trace it end to end in LOT AXIS and show you the yields that come out of it. Then we give you a plan with stations, labels and integrations.
